Golden Pagoda Lumbini - Berastagi



Indonesia has many stunning architectural masterpiece, but certainly many of us who only know Borobudur, Prambanan or Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali and the Istiqlal Mosque which is one of the largest mosque in Southeast Asia.

Among all the buildings masterpiece above certainly many who do not know about the Nature Park Lumbini. Housed in Tongkoh village, Karo District within 65 km from the center of Medan, stands a Buddhist pagoda which is a replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar.


This park is the highest and most beautiful pagoda in Indonesia. Why do I say the most beautiful, because it is situated on a hill in the area of North Sumatra Berastagi. Grandeur Pagoda in the Natural Park of Lumbini is seen as the magnificent building covered gold paint a very bright. Size of the building was also very big so we could go around every corner of this Pagoda with awe.

Almost all the colors in the Natural Park Pagoda Lumbini has a golden color and that makes it look magnificent and luxurious. Underneath is the bracelet of gold ornaments and the Pagoda Buddhist there are four medium-sized space in the middle facing the four sides of the room, and in the middle serve as the location for visitors who want to pray.


In the Natural Park Lumbini Buddhist temple stands a very stately and is a replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma (Myanmar). In addition to building a magnificent pagoda, a 3-hectare complex is also lay a beautiful garden by following the natural contours.

Inside the pagoda building we were greeted by a beautiful cascade of red lanterns and also 30 Rupang Arahat, 2958 statue of Buddha, as well as the 108 holy relics that adorn the building contents. But to get into we must follow the rules like not taking photos with flash, should not make noise and also have to take off their shoes. What is certain religious atmosphere and the sanctity of places of worship must be respected in this building

Replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Taman Alam Lumbini, Berastagi, Karo, North Sumatra is a replica of the second highest after Burma and the highest pagoda in Indonesia so grab MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) by category Highest Pagoda in Indonesia.

 Pagoda Nature Lumbini Park can be reached by car. Travel time is approximately 2-3 hours of field depending on traffic conditions. Pagoda Nature Park is located in the village of Lumbini Tongkoh, Berastagi, North Sumatra. Create an bacpacker-Silk can ride public transportation to Berastagi costs around Rp 10,000 or less.


You can get off at Tahura or Simpang Tongkoh. Tongkoh intersection can be recognized monument in the middle of the fork citrus fruit. Just follow the arrows and signs must walk about 20 minutes.
